Deoghar is famous for Baba Baidhnath Dham where jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva is situated, but Naulakha Temple is also situated just 2.2 kilometers away from Baidhnath Dham, which is very grand and beautiful.
Naulakha temple is dedicated to Bal-Gopal Radha-Krishna. A beautiful idol of Radha-Krishna is installed in the temple. Apart from this, the idol of Saint Balanand Brahmachari is also installed in the temple.
This is a historical temple that was built by Queen Charushila in 1941 AD. The structure of the temple looks like Belur Math Kolkota.
Queen Charushila was the queen of the prestigious royal family, Puthoria Ghat of Kolkata whose husband and her 8-year son died untimely so she lived a very sad in her life. So one day she left home to find peace and came to the ashram of Sant Balananda in Deoghar.
On the advice of Guru Balanand Brahmachari, remembering his 8-year-old son and considering Lord Shri Krishna as his son, She built this Naulakha temple which is dedicated to Bal Gopal.
She gave nine lakh rupees for the construction of the temple, due to which a grand and attractive temple was built.
Because nine lakh rupees were spent in building the temple, hence the name of this temple became NauLakha Temple. The temple was constructed in 1941 AD and at that time Rs 9 lakh was a huge amount.
Apart from Naulakha Temple, it is also known as Jugal Temple which means the temple dedicated to Guru and Gopal.
The temple structure looks like Kolkota Belur math. temple height is 146 feet.
This temple made of marble and granite stones is worth seeing.
Various types of workmanship have been done inside the temple which looks very beautiful.
The grandeur of the pillars of the temple is worth seeing which further enhances the beauty of the temple.
A white statue of Queen Charushila was installed at the entrance of the temple which reminds us of her sorrow, loss, love, and devotion.
Inside the temple, a beautiful idol of Bal Gopal, Radha-Krishna is present.
Nau Lakha Temple is just two kilometers away from Deoghar city where you can easily go by private taxi or auto ort toto it will take 10 minutes to go there.

The temple remains closed from 12:00 to 2:00 PM, so you have to keep this in mind while visiting.
